Rich Barnes
Head Trainer
Founder and Head Trainer Rich Barnes has over 20 years experience specialising in the training and development of personal protection dogs. With a passion for training dogs that are functional and work in the ‘real world’ and not simply trained for sport – which is seen frequently in the industry – Rich has found great success in developing dogs into personal protection and security roles. Rich previously ran TheDogTrainerUK throughout Wales, before moving the business to Cheshire, England in 2020.
Nicole Raganini
Trainee Trainer
Coming from a background in protection dog sports, Nicole has achieved her BSc in Applied Animal Behaviour and Training (Hons) and joined TheDogTrainerUK team in 2022. Whilst developing her skillset in real life use of dogs working as a GP Security Dog Handler, Nicole is learning to train personal protection dogs.
Rico Smith
Trainee Trainer
Joining TheDogTrainerUK team in 2021. Coming from a background in the military, Rico has been able to create realistic scenario training that provides dogs and the handler with the correct scenario and picture for them to succeed. Rico’s extensive military experience and expertise in tactical training has become a great asset to the team and is proven to be invaluable to our customers and clients.
